HEALTH: Anyone who enjoys outdoor life and is physically and mentally fit and in sound health can decide to make trip to Nepal or take part in one of our trekking or mountaineering programs. However some of our treks and expeditions are rigorous and difficult because of being exposed to high altitudes.
VISA FORMALITIES: Visa for entry into Nepal is obtained at the airport in Kathmandu upon arrival into the country. This can be extended at an extra cost for up to a total of 90 days while in Nepal. When traveling to Tibet, we will take your passport to the embassy in Kathmandu while you tour Kathmandu Valley. If traveling only to Tibet, you can obtain visa from the Chinese Embassy of your home country before leaving.
TREKKING PERMIT: A Trekking permit form will be sent to you for completion once you have booked a trek. This should be completed and returned together with four recent passport size photographs.
INSURANCE: To protect yourself against unforeseen circumstances we strongly recommend you to take out a "Trip cancellation and medical insurance policy" in you home country. The medical policy should include coverage of transportation costs in the event of emergency helicopter or surface evacuation being required along with repatriation into your home country.
WHEN TO VISIT: The main season for visiting Nepal is March to May or October to January. The first months of the dry season, October and November are probably the ideal period for trekking or sightseeing in Nepal. December, January and February are still good months for trekking but the cold can be cold at high altitudes. March and April offer better weather, but at the price of hazy visibility. This is compensated by the superb wild flower particularly Nepal's wonderful rhododendrons and orchids.
PREPARATION FOR TRIP: We will provide you with a list of items and equipment to take with you on your tour in your information packet. Also a fitness program several months before trek is recommended and even gaining altitude when possible.
