TREKKING/TOUR INFORMATION
Visas: A valid passport is necessary for travel with the correct visas. A Nepali visa can be obtained at the airport in Nepal and is included in your trip cost. If you are traveling to Tibet, we will handle your visa for you at the embassy while you tour Kathmandu Valley. A tourist can only stay in Nepal for 150 days per year. Requirements change constantly and should be verified. All nationalities need a visa that is valid for at least 6 months after completion of travel dates. We will obtain visa for Bhutan from county of origin.
The best way to travel to Tibet is to drive from Kathmandu to obtain visa.
Permits: We will handle all permits for you and the fees are included. You only need to provide 4 passport photos for the National park permit and conservation permit. Permits also apply in Bhaktapur city, Ran Ban Forrest, Shivapura and some monestaries. We will inform you of permits necessary for your particular itinerary and will obtain them on your behalf when possible.
Travel insurance is compulsory for all tours. All clients MUST be insured to cover personal accident, medical expenses, cancellation, curtailment, heli-evacuation and repatriation. Please Note you should check that your insurance policy is adequate for Trekking.
Clothing & Equipment: We will provide the following equipment when camping: waterproof tents, foam mattresses, and all cooking and eating utensils.
You will need your own warm clothing, walking shoes, sleeping bag and personal equipment. During the day you will carry your camera, jacket, and water bottle in a rucksack. The rest of your equipment, including your sleeping bag, will be carried by porters.
All hiking will be on trails. You will not need any climbing equipment such as ropes, ice axe, or crampons at any time during the trek.
In Kathmandu, casual clothes are usual, unless you get invited to a formal Nepal government or embassy reception, wedding or funeral. We will let you know before leaving if an event is coming up so we can let you know what attire is appropriate.
Equipment List: We will provide you with a list in your booking package
The best time to travel in Nepal is Spring or fall. Summers have monsoon rains and winter gets cold in the mountains.

Planning for Travel to Tibet
Late Spring or Summer is the best time to travel since the weather is dry and warm. However, the higher altitudes are cool and warm clothing is necessary. We will travel by vehicle since much land is to be covered. It is rugged ground and luxury is not to be expected. Flexibility and understanding that culture is not the same as your home is important. Some areas have lodges to stay and others will require camping. It is a good idea to learn a little of the local language since not much English is spoken there. I will provide you with Tibetan phrases in your booking packet.
