Cultural Tour in the Kingdom of Nepal
Two days and nights in Bangkok for a night and see the city that truly never sleeps full of Buddhist temples, lively and colorful streets with open markets, the famous fantastic (and sometimes spicy) foods, the lovely and friendly Thai people and so much more of a culture rich with history.
The next day you will land in Kathmandu, where one of our guides will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel. You will have two days to explore the many sites to see in this ancient city including the street markets, temples, museums, and dances or festivals. Next you will trek to the Sherpa village Taksindu at the base of the Himalayas where you will stay with Karma Sherpa¹s family in their house for the night. His mother Suni is a wonderful cook of traditional, Sherpa dishes and always has a hot cup of chai (or milk tea) waiting for you.
Then the mountain trek begins into one of the highest and most spectacular mountain ranges in the world. With a view of Everest and many other sacred and unclimbed peaks, lakes and glaciers, you will trek several hours per day while the porters carry the equipment for you. In the morning, our Sherpa guides will wake you with a hot cup of chai and will prepare breakfast while you dress for your day of hiking. You will visit monasteries, a jungle safari, villages and farms. For the intermediate trekker, the historical Everest base camp interests some and has awesome views of the peak. There are several options for treks in the region depending on the fitness level and length of time each group has to spend (see itineraries section for more details). A party with Sherpa families in the village will conclude your trek.
Three more days in Kathmandu to visit markets, temples, monasteries, schools, rug factory, political offices, library, jungle for safari, etc.
