Mountain Flight

Another way to see the mountains is by taking a grand flight just over the mountain range. Because of the exquisite views of Everest and the surrounding, dramatic peaks, this has become a popular way to tour the peaks. It is a full hour flight and takes you within camera range of some of the highest peaks in the world laden with enormous towers of rock and ice. The first peak comes into view almost immediately which is the majestic Gosaithan and stands 8,013 m/24,039ft above sea level. Then Dorje Lhakpa at 6,966m/20,898 ft, Mt. Gaurishauker 7,134m/21,402ft, Melungtse 7,023m/21,069ft, Number Himal 6,956m/20,868ft, Karyalung 6,511m/19,533ft, and Cho-oyo which is the 6th highest peak in the world standing at 8,021m/24,063ft. The last stretch is exhilarating as takes you close to the Gyanchugkang 7,952m/23,856ft., Pamori 7,161m/21,483 and Nuptse at 7,855m/23,565ft. Ending the flight is Mt. Everest presenting itself as a grand finale standing with pride as the highest mountain on Earth at 8,850m/29,000, called Sagarmatha by Nepalese and Chomolungma by Tibetans. It is a feeling you will never forget after coming face to face with the grandeur of the top of our world.
